Marvin Gaye was a super star, a Motown legend. But the smooth exterior and golden voice hid another very different Marvin Gaye. Paranoid. Suicidal. Addicted to cocaine.

Final 24 is compelling documentary series that unlocks the hidden secrets and psychological flaws behind the tragic deaths of the world’s greatest icons.  By combining dramatic recreation and archival footage, the series embarks on a psychological detective story – weaving the events of the star’s final day with the story of their life.

On his last day alive soul superstar Marvin Gaye is depressed and paranoid. He’s abandoned his latest tour and is holed up at his parents’ house in Los Angeles, California. His excessive drug use soon causes his life-long power struggle with his father to explode; a conflict that finally ends with Marvin being shot by his father.

Through intimate interviews with Marvin’s sister, preacher, musician friends and collaborators we uncover the Prince of Motown’s violent childhood to understand Marvin’s strained relationship with his abusive father, and his tormented struggle with drugs.
