Day of Atonement – HitPlay Productions

In 1973 a surprise attack on Yom Kippur, the holiest Jewish day, catches Israel off guard. It is the bloodiest war since Israel’s war of Independence. Unlike the previous Six Day War, this one will last an entire month.  A Jewish hero will fall, and a warrior will bring peace.  Blood will redefine borders and alliances in the Holy Land.

Day of Atonement tells the story of the Yom Kippur war as it unfolded on mahogany tables, and in the battlefield.  Secretary of State Henry Kissinger’s manipulation of the conflict juxtaposed against soldiers fighting for their lives on the frontlines offers a revealing portrait of war in the era of super power politics.

First-hand accounts from the war’s principle actors, including Henry Kissinger and Ariel Sharon, along with stunning war footage filmed by both Israeli and Egyptian troops, provides a revealing look at the critical stalemate on the Egyptian frontier that brought both sides to the negotiating table.
